Crescent Moon
The Cresent Moon, "The Moon," is a bar located on 36th and Farnam Streets. It also contains Wilkommen Huber-Haus, a German Bier Hall famous for "Das Boot." The Cresent Moon motto is "There is NO reason to go anywhere else!"
The Crescent Moon houses three separate bars - two upstairs and the infamous Wilkommen Huber Haus bar in the basement.
The Huber Haus sports a German Bier Hall theme and the bar serves a variety of German beers in fancy beer steins. This bar is best known for "Das Boot," a two liter glass boot around which a drinking game revolves. A boot costs $14 to fill, requires a credit card to be held by the bar as a deposit, costs $50 if broken, and is featured in the movie Beerfest. Another favorite at the Moon is a fruity drink called the Hurricane. Food is also served at this bar.
Warren Buffett also frequents the Moon and has brought with him many celebrities including LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees.
The Moon offers weekly specials:
- Monday - $.50 tacos $1.00 Pabst and Old Style
- Tuesday - Pint Night. Buy a beer and keep your glass; refills are $1.
- Thursday - Discount wings. $.25 per wing.
- Saturday - Karaoke night.
The Crescent Moon is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
