Gwen Howard
Senator Gwen Howard (b. June 24, 1945) represents District 9 in Omaha.

After graduating from Benson High School in 1963, Howard earned a bachelors degree at Midland Lutheran College in sociology and psychology. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1977 with a masters in social work. Howard was elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2004 and works on the education and health/human services committees.
Aside from her accreditation by the National Association of Social Workers and accredited by the Academy of Certified Social Workers, she is also a member of the Nebraska Association of Public Employees-American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

Her husband David Howard, is deceased; Howard has three children, and is a social worker and adoption specialist.
