Owners Don and Marie Losole opened the restaurant in 1992, and have been keeping the business within the family, as their six children are employed at the restaurant. Tucked away in a quaint neighborhood in South Omaha, the warm inviting atmosphere is perfect for gatherings of all sizes. The restaurant prides itself on "made from scratch" cooking - everything from the bread and dipping sauces to the tasty pasta bowls. Menu options include a variety of homemade pastas, sauces, pizzas and classic Italian dishes. In addition, specialty pasta items such as chicken marsala, veal scaloppine and gamberi scampi are available and highly recommended. The portions served are very large, so make sure you come hungry or else you will most likely leave with a to-go box.

Prices typically fall in between $15-$40 per entree. There is also an extensive wine list to choose from. Lo Sole Mio has a corking fee of $15 if you want to bring a personal favorite bottle of wine to enjoy. If you are in the mood to dine at home, a carryout menu is available. Be sure to arrive early, especially on weekends, as Lo Sole Mio does not take reservations.
