Omaha hosted the Trans-Mississippi Exposition, a world's fair in 1898. Its goal was to showcase the development of the West.

The Omaha Commons is a user-generated guide to Omaha. It uses the software on which Wikipedia is based, which allows users to edit articles and add new content. Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska and is located on the eastern edge of Nebraska along the Missouri River. The geographic scope of the Omaha Wiki includes the eight counties that make up the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area, including adjoining cities such as Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, and Council Bluffs. The population of the Omaha metro area is about 825,000.
