The University of Nebraska at Omaha, founded in 1908 as the University of Omaha, is the Omaha, Nebraska campus of the University of Nebraska system, and is the second-largest institution of higher education in Nebraska (after the University of Nebraska–Lincoln). UNO has over 100 recognized clubs and organizations to keep students involved.

UNO Hockey closed out its six-year run at the Civic Auditorium in 2002-2003, selling out 131 consecutive games.

The first building constructed at UNO was the Arts & Sciences Hall building, in 1939.
