Wehrspann Lake

Wehrspann Lake is located in southwest Omaha, near Papillion. The lake has a surface area of 246 acres and is surrounded by 940-acre Chalco Hills Recreation Area, a day use only facility. The area offers 7 square miles of biking, hiking, and jogging trails, a nature trail, an arboretum, native prairie grasses, a bird-watching platform, and a universally accessible fishing pier which you can catch a variety of fish. Bluegills, large mouth bass, walleye, and crappie are plentiful, but most are undersized. Panfish can be caught off worms (waxworms, mealworms, nightcrawlers, etc.) on a small jig and light line, while predatory fishes like walleye and bass can be caught with minnows. There is no size limit on crappie during the month of April, however, the daily limit of ten panfish is still in effect.

The park has a boat ramp and a handicap accessible dock.
